  • Includes Oak Flaoting Shelf + Floating Shelf Bracket + Pack of Screws

The TASMANIAN BLACKWOOD FLOATING SHELF range come in pre-sized lengths and widths, or can be customised to your space if you have a particular requirement.

The shelf has been been pre drilled to fit the bracket pegs. The rear edge has been slotted, so the shelf hides the bracket and fits snug against your wall.

  • Timber Species:

Made from solid Tasmanian Blackwood timber, each piece is finished to the highest standard.

We give you an option for the edge profile of the shelf, and apply a water and heat resistant, durable oil in semi-matte finish (a more natural look).

Tasmanian Blackwood is a premium Australian hardwood timber species and as such, is pricier than our standard Blonde Oak, but it’s definitely worth it.

    Timber appearance:

Our images of our woods are only a representation of the final piece you will receive.

Please be aware that the wood may vary in grain, tone and may show natural timber features such as gum veins.

Also, the difference in computer screen and device tones may affect the visual representation.

We don't accept responsibility for our wood colour not meeting your expectations.

    Maintenance:

Clean with warm soapy water only.

Don’t store harsh chemicals on our products.

  • Our Tasmanian Blackwood is purchased in rough sawn sizes, meaning we need to machine it to your size. Most of the time, our boards play nice and we get what we need. Sometimes the wood doesn’t play nice. That’s why these sizes are just approximates only..

PLEASE NOTE: wider shelves will have more than one board laminated together to achieve the desired width. ie: not one solid board.

  • Floating Shelf Bracket:

Each shelf comes with a bracket that is made by us, to fit your particular sized shelf. It is ready to be levelled and screwed directly to a flat wall, using our fixings provided.

We supply timber screws as standard with every order. Please see our Installation guide below for details on fixings and anchors to mount our shelves.

If you require specific anchors for your particular wall type, UPGRADED FIXINGS PACKS are available here.

Each pack has 6 anchors / fixings designed for your particular wall type.

1 PACK (6 ANCHORS) WILL BE ENOUGH FOR MOST of our WALL MOUNTED PRODUCTS AND FLOATING SHELVES UNDER 1.5m.

LONGER SHELVES REQUIRE 2 PACKS (12 ANCHORS)

    Weight Capacity:

Load ratings vary for each situation. Please refer to this guide for more info

    Installation:

We recommend a qualified installer to install our shelves, however, any handy person should be able to install using our instructions provided here.

If no masonry or timber studs are available, it’s up to your discretion whether or not your wall will be able to handle the weight. We don’t recommend mounting our longer and wider shelves with just plasterboard wall plugs. If using only plasterboard wall plugs and screws, maximum weight will depend on the wall plugs you have used, the condition of your wall, and whether the wall plug has been installed correctly.

Welds and Wood accept no responsibility for the failed installation of your bracket and shelf.

*When installed using our install methods. Instructions are available in our here
