    Mantel shelves and floating mantel brackets supplied by Welds & Wood are decorative products only. The purchaser is solely responsible for ensuring the mantel is installed in accordance with the fireplace manufacturer's installation requirements, local building regulations, and any applicable building codes.

    Minimum clearance distances from fireplaces vary significantly between manufacturers and models. Welds & Wood does not provide advice regarding fireplace clearances, heat exposure, or compliance with building regulations.

    Prior to installation, customers must consult the fireplace manufacturer's specifications and seek advice from a qualified installer, builder, or relevant professional where required.

    Welds & Wood accepts no responsibility for damage, injury, loss, or fire resulting from incorrect installation, inadequate clearances, heat exposure, or non-compliance with manufacturer requirements or building regulations.

  • We supply 40mm timber screws as standard with every order. However, these will only work in timber studs. For all other wall types, refer to these guides.

  • Once unpacked, check your product carefully before installing.

    Check for:

    • Timber cracks or splits

    • Deep dents or impact marks

    • Bent steel components

    • Missing hardware or fixings

    Natural timber variation, grain pattern and colour differences are normal and are not considered defects.

    If damage has occurred in transit, we will help you resolve it quickly.

    Please take images of the box and the product, and send it to us within 24 hours of receiving the package.

    If something is missing, don’t stress — we’ll sort it.

    What to do:

    1. Check all packaging and wrapping first

    2. Confirm your order confirmation against what you received

    3. Take a photo of what you received

    Then contact us with:

    • Order number

    • Photo of contents

    • Short description of what is missing

    We’ll organise replacement parts as fast as possible.

  • Please contact us before installation if you notice:

    • Transport damage

    • Missing components

    • Incorrect product supplied

    • Anything you are unsure about

    Installing a damaged product can make the issue worse and may affect warranty claims.
