With a little care and attention, your Welds & Wood piece will continue to look beautiful and perform well for many years

  • Our finishes are designed to be durable, natural, and easy to maintain, so you can enjoy the character and warmth of real timber without worry.

    Your Welds & Wood product has been coated with Osmo Oil Poly X and is automatically water and dirt resistant. However, to get the best out of the timber, the surfaces of your product will need to be maintained on an on-going basis. The degree of maintenance depends upon the degree of usage.

  • ⚠️ Avoid harsh household chemicals or detergents — they strip the protective oil finish.

    Dust with a soft cloth.

    Wipe spills promptly.

    For general cleaning, use mild soap + warm water:

    • Mix a drop of plant-based dish soap in warm water.

    • Dampen a cloth, wring out well, wipe, then dry immediately.

    • Dull Surfaces: Apply a thin coat of Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner, then buff.

    • Stains: Remove with a fine white Scotchbrite pad or steel wool, then reapply wax spray.

    • Scratches / Worn Areas: Lightly sand, then apply a coat of Osmo PolyX Oil.

    • DIY Alternative: For small refreshes, raw linseed oil or tung oil can be applied sparingly. Wipe away excess and allow 24 hours to cure.

  • The degree of maintenance depends on usage.

    With regular gentle cleaning and the occasional refresh, your timber will develop a natural, lasting patina.
