  • Warm browns to light pinks and everytting in between.

American White Oak

Tasmanian Blackwood

  • American white oak is a hardwood common throughout the eastern United States. American white oak is used for a wide range of applications, including shipping and boat building, flooring, architectural joinery, exterior joinery, railways sleepers and timber bridges due to its strength and resistance to decay.  It is also an excellent timber for high-grade furniture, interior woodwork and paneling.

  • Very similar in appearance and colour to the blonde oak, American white oak has light-coloured sapwood and a light to dark brown heartwood. Regularly displays olive through to yellow tones.

Blonde Oak

  • Blackwood is a medium-sized Australian hardwood that grows in South Australia and the eastern states. In the wetter areas of Tasmania it is grown in large volumes for commercial use.

  • Heartwood golden brown, often with narrow bands of darker colour indicative of the growth rings. Sometimes reddish streaks are also present.

Our FINISHES

All of our timber products are finished with OSMO oil in a variety of tints. Good for both humans and wood. Osmo finishes are based on natural oils and waxes. The oil penetrates into the wood surface, protecting the wood from deep within. The waxes protects the wood from moisture and abrasion remaining naturally beautiful, protected and durable. The result: an eco-friendly and a non-toxic environment in your home. We use a clear oil as standard, but provide multiple tints intended for your personal requirements.
